Matt Beatty and the Hot Tamales are a Calgary based sensation.  Not only are they a band that can play almost any style of music, but they also do some of the regions most entertaining shows with the most exciting themes. 

The Hot Tamales experience starts with their versatility.  The band and its members have all performed in multiple genres such as Rock, Country, Hard Rock and MOR styles.  Besides having a tremendous repertoire to draw from the band also has the ability to perform songs in new styles making for a brand new show every time you see them.  Some of the more popular choices have seen the band take Deep Purples “Smoke on the Water” and turn it into a Big Band Swing song not unlike Louis Prima's, “Jump, Jive and Wail”.  A personal favorite of the groups is their Bossa Nova version of ZZ-Tops “Tush”.

The show that the Hot Tamales put on is second to none.  The band focuses on interaction with the crowd at all times.  Whether through dancing to or singing with the group, every moment is fun.  The band has several interactive shows that it routinely performs.  These shows include Jamaoke (Live Band Karaoke), a 70’s costume themed mullet rock party, a totally tubular 80’s themed show, live band “Name the Song” and many others.
